Signs of Cold Stress in Peanut
Symptoms
Peanut exhibits moderate resilience to cool temperatures, flourishing optimally between 68℉ and 86℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 59℉. Should temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may darken. Severe instances can lead to water-soaked decay, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for ample light. If light is inadequate, provide supplementary illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Peanut
Symptoms
In summer, Peanut should be maintained below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration lightens, and susceptibility to sun damage increases.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
