Signs of Cold Stress in Summer cypress
Symptoms
Summer cypress tolerates cold well and flourishes best when temperatures are above 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Summer cypress
Symptoms
During summer, Summer cypress should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
