Signs of Cold Stress in Parlor palm
Symptoms
Parlor palm thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It grows optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 55℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, leaves may lose their vibrant color. Following frost exposure, foliage progressively browns or blackens, accompanied by wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Parlor palm
Symptoms
In summer, Parlor palm should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaves will appear paler, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
