Signs of Cold Stress in Lucky bamboo
Symptoms
Lucky bamboo favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes best when the temperature is above 65℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, the foliage might lose some color. Following frost damage, the hue progressively shifts to brown or black, and indications like wilting and drooping may appear.
Solutions
Remove the sections affected by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from the cold. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring sufficient light exposure. Furthermore, avoid positioning the plant near heating units or air conditioning vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Lucky bamboo
Symptoms
In summer, Lucky bamboo should be kept below 80℉. When the temperature surpasses 90℉, the leaf color lightens, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off the sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area that offers protection from the midday and afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
