Signs of Cold Temperatures in Chinese juniper
Symptoms
Chinese juniper tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of High Temperatures in Chinese juniper
Symptoms
During summer, Chinese juniper should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in color, tips may dry and shrivel, and it becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
