Signs of Cold Stress in Wild privet
Symptoms
Wild privet tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, even if no immediate changes are seen, branches might become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.

In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new leaves.

Symptoms
In summer, Wild privet should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures go above 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, tips could dry and wither, and it becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
