Ideal Temperature for Flax
Images of Flax
Indications of Low Temperature in Flax
Symptoms
Flax tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, while winter might show no obvious effects, spring could see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Indications of High Temperature in Flax
Symptoms
During summer, Flax should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, tend to curl, become prone to sun damage, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to keep the soil damp.
