Signs of Cold Stress in Perennial ryegrass
Symptoms
Perennial ryegrass exhibits strong resistance to cold, but winter temperatures must stay above 40℉. If temperatures fall below this point, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
During spring, eliminate any sections that have not germinated.
Signs of Heat Stress in Perennial ryegrass
Symptoms
Perennial ryegrass does not thrive in high heat. When temperatures surpass 75℉, its development ceases, and it becomes more prone to decay.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
