Signs of Cold Stress in Heavenly bamboo
Symptoms
Heavenly bamboo tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of Heat Stress in Heavenly bamboo
Symptoms
During summer, Heavenly bamboo should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's leaves may lighten in color, tips might dry and shrivel, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
