Signs of Cold Stress in Silk-reed
Symptoms
Silk-reed favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, its foliage might lose some color. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively become brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping can appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from the cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Silk-reed
Symptoms
In summer, Silk-reed should be kept below 80℉. When temperatures go above 85℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off any parts that are sunburned and dried. Move the plant to a spot that offers protection from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
