Ideal Temperature for Switchgrass

Signs of Cold Stress in Switchgrass
Symptoms
Switchgrass tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Switchgrass
Symptoms
In summer, Switchgrass should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl easily, suffer from sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
