Signs of Cold Temperatures in Creeping phlox
Symptoms
Creeping phlox tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter damage may be apparent, spring sprouting could be reduced or absent.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of High Temperatures in Creeping phlox
Symptoms
In summer, Creeping phlox should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in extreme cases, the whole plant may wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
