Signs of Cold Stress in Kentucky bluegrass
Symptoms
Kentucky bluegrass tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might not be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Kentucky bluegrass
Symptoms
During summer, Kentucky bluegrass should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant leaves may lighten, curl, become prone to scorching, and in severe instances, the whole plant might wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
