Signs of Cold Stress in Goldmoss stonecrop
Symptoms
Goldmoss stonecrop cannot withstand extremely low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures range from 60℉ to 75℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 40℉. If the temperature drops below 20℉, its leaves will show waterlogged decay and drooping. For minor frost damage, initial signs might be absent, but within a week, leaves will severely droop and eventually detach.
Solutions
Cut away the frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for cold defense. When bringing the plant inside, select a spot near a south-facing window for sufficient light. If using a makeshift greenhouse, ensure proper air circulation to prevent plant rot from inadequate ventilation.
Signs of Heat Stress in Goldmoss stonecrop
Symptoms
In summer, Goldmoss stonecrop should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant will enter dormancy and is more susceptible to rot in humid environments.
Solutions
Remove any dry and decayed portions. Transfer the plant to a shaded spot, shielding it from direct sun during midday and afternoon. Cease watering until the weather cools down.
