Signs of Cold Stress in Eastern gamagrass
Symptoms
Eastern gamagrass tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Eastern gamagrass
Symptoms
In summer, Eastern gamagrass should be maintained below 90℉. When temperatures surpass 100℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering midday and afternoon shade, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
