Signs of Cold Stress in Spider plant
Symptoms
Spider plant favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, foliage may lose some color. Following frost damage, leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Spider plant
Symptoms
In summer, Spider plant should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures go above 86℉, leaf color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned or dried-out sections. Move the plant to a spot that offers protection from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
