Greenstem forsythia (Forsythia viridissima) is a deciduous shrub native to Asia, known for its rapid growth and dense clusters of flowers. Often referred to as Korean greenstem forsythia, it is commonly used for ground cover to maintain soil health and inhibit weed growth, and it can be grown indoors in containers as well. A notable variety of this species, named 'Bronxensis,' was initially cultivated at the Bronx Botanical Garden in 1939 from Japanese seeds.
